Dear President Obama,
Thank you so much for all that you stand for...hope, change, and the good things about this country I am leaving. By becoming president, you have unknowingly eased my travels through the big wide world and so add that one tiny contribution to the list of positive things you have done and will continue to do.
I leave today from San Francisco to Botswana (layovers in London and Johannesburg). I am incredibly excited to begin my study abroad experience as this break (as fun as it has been) has been a waiting game for this day when the adventure begins. Although it has already begun in many ways, I am relieved to finally take off.
I will miss all that I am leaving behind. Last night's family dinner plus 2 was a lovely button to a great break. Grant it meant the world to me that you came all the way here to say goodbye (I hope you didn't miss too much of your party). I hope that all the people I love are safe and have fun while I am away.

caitlin! I have been reading a lot about Botswana lately and I am so excited that you are there! I can't wait to hear about everything you're getting into! I miss you a lot though, its silly that just not being able to give you a phone call is tough. .I miss you I miss you I miss you!
